Photographer Gideon Nel

Gideon Nel was born in 1970 in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he continued to live in the most beautiful wine lands situated in the Western Cape. Gideon took occasional photos as a hobby most of his life, and only years later he then realized that photography was his true passion where the resonance of this hobby became like a drug. His love for photography is what he does to inspire the raw instances, moments and aspiration, in captivating and capturing your story with every snap through his lens.

Gideon is a freelance photographer for landscapes, portraits and events such as sports, birthday moments, wedding days and events.

His works were captured in a number of exhibitions, publications and galleries, amongst those were the Art Route in Paarl in 2011 with Atelier Paarl, the sixth annual Christmas exhibition ‘ANGELS 6’ at Grande Provence Wine Estate in Franschoek, and also the ‘Woordfees’ 2011 at P.J Olivier Arts Centre in Stellenbosch. Furthermore he has captured moments for Concrete Growth for their website and banner publications, as well as for Media Publishing for various photo competitions. Gideon has always been tasked on many occasions, and called in for pictures taken for Wine Estates in Cape Town for their Facebook, website and marketing platforms.
His passion continues where he has always availed himself to be camera ready for any occasion, for you.
